Project Description:
As part of the new wayfinding guidance system to be applied across San Francisco International Airport, two new signs -
22’x11’ digital sign as you take the freeway
3’6” x 5’-0” digital sign for guests wanting to use public transport
were installed to welcome guests into San Francisco as you exit the airport.
The size of the sign, the graphics of the sign and location were chosen after analysis and consideration of viewing distances and viewing times so as to not distract drivers as they make their way onto the freeway or guests rushing to make their way to the next train.
Roles and responsibilities:
Designed, coordinated, executed installation of the new Welcoming Digital Sign at SFO.
Created exhibits for interfacing with a diverse set of stakeholders like traffic engineering, maintenance, guest services, SFO ITT and landside operations.
Executed CalTrans code analysis, Title 24 documentation and created bid documents used for procurement and construction.
