Project Description:
On October 16, 2019 SFO implemented a new and improved gate numbering system across the airport. It switched from the previous gate numbering system that was a continuous numbering system across all terminals and concourses, from 1 to 102. The new gate numbering system breaks gate numbers down to specific concourses and boarding areas within each terminal using an alpha-numeric format with the corresponding boarding areas(A—G), and a sequential number relative to its location from the checkpoint to the end of the concourse.
Roles and responsibilities
Coordinated, executed and implemented multi-phase planning, design and construction of the new gate renumbering system across the airport.
Designed and created exhibits for interfacing with a diverse set of stakeholders, all the way from Airport executives to custodial staff.
Coordinated and managed consultants across disciplines like structural, electrical, civil, special systems, experience and wayfinding designers.
Created bid documents, coordinated and managed subcontractors through out the implementation of the project.
